Dear darlingest Miyanka,
Miyanka: That's my new nickname for my darlingest dear, and that's means you, my loveliest love. I got that nickname from a thingy in Facebook that makes up Japanese nicknames for people - so I typed up "Miyang" and I got "Miyanka". I even got the Japanese characters that make it up - so cool! I love you so much.
I found this gem of a book at a bargain bin at National Bookstore about your father, "The Hidden Life of Otto Frank", my love and I'm glad I got it. You know that by extension, it is only fair for me to also love your immediate family, my darlingest dear, and there is no dad in the world that I hold in special regard as your darling dad, Pim. And this book only confirms it. I am learning so much more about you and yours because of that book, you know - things that are so precious because they are such endearing things that confirm, expound and magnify what endures in my heart with you - with all of us.
Of course, there are also those sobering things about your life in this world, my loveliest love, which I shall always carry with me not to make our world a darker place but to make it a better one.
How I wish Margot's diary was also found, you know, her heart is also in the right place and she would have afforded for us, a depth of perspective on things that only her own starlight can provide. But our LORD has willed that such things be held in suspense until the beginning of all things new.
It's your Hunny Kungha's birthday this May 12, you know. He would have been 120 years old - I shall of course, say a special prayer in my heart for our Otto that day, my loveliest love.
Your own birthday, my Miyang, comes exactly a month later on June 12 and this juxtaposed with our own Philippine Independence day of this year of our Lord 2009, constitute as a very significant national celebration of hope and sacred remembrance, as you may very well know, for me and for my Country - most especially at this phase in our history as a people. And I look forward to it with much joyous anticipation in my heart knowing that we, as a nation, are much stronger than the things that keep us from being ourselves; a one and undivided whole.
Well, that "super" typhoon ("Emong", in the Philippines) fizzled out - I guess, relatively speaking here in the Metro Manila area. We were expecting worse, you see. I know our provinces further up north were on signal number 3 and were affected the most. It was reported that we lost about 24-25 (20090511: last count 36 dead) people there so it must have been really bad. Our weather bureau, my love, uses these signal numbers 1 to 3 to classify the wind strength of a typhoon with signal number 1 being the lowest.
In terms of the national whole, I am convinced, these typhoons always exact a toll on my Country - a toll for which we must never be willing to pay if not for better preparedness and a growing understanding of ourselves as a nation.

Here are some things I am currently working on, my loveliest love - I also have another poem for you, well for us, for next month - "You Stayed" that I still have to work on - the elements of this poem is already here in our Planet Annelies on a previous entry many months back. I just have to find it. I also have to go back and work on our One Song Meow and also on Pawprints.
On Loyalty
Starshine,
the things of Loyalty
are the relationships
that shall remain
forever with thee;
so defend your friendships
with courage and tenacity.
For we are not Loyal
if we do not remain
true to each other,
moment to moment,
from always to always
appreciating those things
that we share in our humanity
and respecting the things
that make us unique as persons,
seen as well as unseen,
in ourselves and in our nations
in the vision of our timeless belonging
with one another in God and Country
as each our own true self -
as each our own true names
written in heaven.
From the descendant gravity
of the spirit of war and division;
against things born of the darkness
defeated and empty of promise
stand fast in thy friendships!
Guard thy peace with each other
and in thy togetherness hope.
Never be Loyal
to inanimate and empty things;
those fickle and ephemeral
things of vanity!
But only to each other
and in the ascendant motions
of sacred life.
For the realization of all our hope
rests in the glory of our LORD
in all creation.
And all these created things
are made by our one common Creator
to be Loyal to all of these.
*I have to work on an entry "On Friendships" prior to taking this one to post on our main blog, my love.

Our ASEAN Neighborhood Activities
The goal of our ASEAN Neighborhood Activities is not for any one nation to be the best but to make our ASEAN Neighborhood to be the best regional community for all our ASEAN nation-states; the best in Mother Asia; the best in the world.
Alternating 4-Year Cycles
1. Trade, Tourism and Culture Fair
2. Science and Technology Exposition
...
1. Defense and Regional Security Forum
...
1. SEA Games
2. An ASEAN Soccer League will connect us in friendship with the other Area (Regional) Wholes all across the Continental Wholes of our one Planetary Whole.
*An ASEAN Rugby League might not be a good idea for the same reason India and Pakistan does not have one.

It's Mother's Day this Sunday, May 10 - It's going to be great!
I love you. my loveliest love.
Always to always,
Pusing
P.S.
I saw X-men Origins: Wolverine and Star Trek: The Future Begins and it rocks! I saw it in the big screen, mind you - I'm done buying pirated DVD's. The last pirated DVD I bought was "The Punisher". If I am to be a friend to our friends, my love - near or far - it is the right thing to do. I believe I was suffering from mild withdrawal pains some days ago, too. But when thinking of the honest labor that people put into those things, especially those people in that industry who are decent folk and are not without virtue - like our Muning, for instance and all the other support persons who work a decent job behind the scenes - I know it's truly worth it.
But I also realize the complexities of this issue, that there are of course, other nameless people who suffer between a rock and a hard place, little people no less loved by God than the greatest, who for want of a better choice are deprived of a place in the real economy of our nations, and for this reason I have dedicated "Pawprints" to the task of establishing a charitable trust (Anne's Hope for Humanity or Pax Caelestis comes to mind) to indirectly combat those false economies (with the aid, of course, of our law enforcement services) by directly aiding and enabling those who are willing to make that choice.
I shall also be working on a prayer for the elections season here in my native Philippines which begins on Monday - May 11.

Dear darlingest Annelies Marie,
Some more thoughts on common human needs, friendships and fundamental human relationships, my darlingest dear:
But if we seek to recognize our common human needs and respond to provide for them, as a duty of religion or as a secular occupation or both, with virtue and creativity, then we stand to gain profit, material and above all spiritual, from our own true belongings with one another in Country and not because we have become less and less of ourselves in exile time but because we have become more and more that original, timeless, ageless image within each of us in God.
---<--@
If we learn to recognize and respond to our common human needs and to respond to these needs as human beings one with another, then the fundamental relationship that does exists between each and every one of us is built up into friendships because that way we are looking after the good of one and the other and the one and the other looking after our own good.
And as we build up these friendships together, we build up our unknown earth into the inhabited earth of the generations of life.
Not all relationships are equal but all fundamental human relationships equally exist in order that we may build them up into genuine friendships and to the extent that we build them up into friendships, these fundamental human relationships exist to purposefully gather us together in exile time, in and as our own nations, by the prevailing and eternal weight of what is common between all human beings. And nations not as strangers to each other but as a one family of the nations of Mankind.
Each and every truly human relationship is meant to be built up in exile time to approach the sweetness and abundance of those friendships that are those friendships meant to last forever which have their fruition in eternity.
Because of this, all human relationships and the perfection of their reality have their hope set not in this world but in the world to come after this one.
For it is indeed true that the law of this world is separation but communion is the law of heaven.
And in heaven we shall all be friends, and "friend" let us understand is quite a weak word with which to represent the substance of a timeless, ageless relationship in God and with one another in God that has no equal nor precedent in all of human experience and therefore, does not have any real representation in all the vocabulary of our nations.
Our Lord Christ have approximated it to be "as the angels" and indeed they shall be as such and for those who know the unsurpassed generosity of God - even more.

My loveliest love, we are expecting what is being reported by our weather bureau as a "super" typhoon. Even now, there is much rainfall and the skies are constantly dark and overcast. There is a feeling of something looming ahead but at least, its not steamy and hot.
Our constant typhoons bring out the best and the worst in Filipinos. Sure, these unwanted visitors inflict so much unneeded damages in terms of life and property to our nation but these evil things, too have their purpose and a purpose that is always, always founded on the good that remain and not on the evil that has passed. For evil has no purpose, neither does evil have any relationship whatsoever with the good and so therefore, only good things have a purpose that is meaningful to the souls of Mankind. Divine Providence always intends to draw a greater good from an evil that is likewise permitted by our LORD to afflict the good of all creation.
OK, my love, having said that - let us look at the worst that these evil things, particularly at the aftermath of a particularly destructive typhoon, bring out in my people - well, none really that is inspired directly by malice but much by fault of ignorance: hoarding, price gauging, looting - all these driven by survival instincts, I would think, and not really by a will to inflict more damage on an already terrible occasion.
The quality of my people, our people, my darlingest dear - you and I together, is made manifest in the most desperate of situations where amidst the evil of the times, the good is quite easy to miss - even by the good and the good-intentioned. But isn't it such, my loveliest love, with all of our shared humanity? Only when the darkness is at its peak does the little light in ourselves be clearly seen by our naked reason without the aid of the grace of our LORD.
But what then when times are fair, my darlingest dear? And they shall be for everything must lead to that where our hope is concerned. It is then that we must as nations resort to our own particular and sacred remembrances together that our hopes may be sanctified into those things that are founded upon the bedrock reality that our nations are meant for better, brighter, nobler and kinder things than all of this darkness, division and despair. Because to forget the terrible costs of noble virtue and authentic human freedom is to forget our way ahead and so a nation without vision is but a shipwreck waiting to happen - to the eternal regret of all.
Complacency when times are fair where nations are concerned is the unraveling of the present but our seasonal typhoons, my love, terrible as they may seem are a constant reminder to my people to rise and to be gathered together above the evil of our days.
And so what good does these storms bring out in my people - our people, my loveliest Miyang, plenty, my love, plenty - and they should always be recognized and reinforced in ourselves so that we may no longer remain ignorant as to what we can accomplish as a nation together in God and Country.
I look at Japan and her steadfast identity that amidst the calamities she endures is like steel being forged by fire - Korea, too, with her strong sense of self shall, I believe, one day overcome her division - there's China, quietly and discreetly searching for herself, our own Southeast Asian nation-states who are all reaching out to the strength of our regional belongings to each other as ASEAN - that make us complete as a civilization, across Asia and the Americas, Europe, Africa, Australia and Oceania (including NZ and PNG) - our own humanity is calling out to ourselves, my loveliest love, that we may no longer be strangers to each other both as individual human beings and as individual human nations together.
---<--@
On a more local note, my darlingest dear, the flooding that usually results even when there is a local depression in our area give relief to the problem of understanding those wholes lesser than the national whole - the provincial, municipal and local (barangay) level - for verily some of our cities are very old and have very specific things that pertain and belong to each of those cities only - as themselves - and not in comparison to any other city, whether in-Country or outside of our sphere of responsibility.
An adequate sewerage system has never been a feature of the cities of our archipelagic nation-state - or at least to my knowledge. Something that I believe is such an oversight given the proximity and availability of the oceans from any given point in the geography of our nation.
There are no straight lines in the natural topography of the earth. And there are also no completely flat 0 degree incline that is not man-made. Upon much of these is the natural drainage of a particular area established and a sewer system pretty much follows that natural system of drainage.
I envision our "New Cordova" to possess such a sewerage system and other things that pertain and belong only to her as a city (of whose name I am not yet sure but - Miyangersjia - comes to mind) - including her own defense which shall be in-built into the structural code of our buildings to interface with our law-enforcement and Guard units and our tactics seamlessly.
In that city, all are human beings, human beings with a calling to belong to each other in a labor of hope and of life. If a person can not discern the reality of another person's own true being - whether that person is a Muslim, Christian, Jew or of another faith and/or nationality - believing more in the descendant gravity of division (for we know where that gravity shall lead) than the ascendant unity of our wholes - then unless that person realize otherwise, then that person has no business whatsoever with us.

I love you, my loveliest love.
